[A small, slightly stocky child in a dress sits against a wall in one of the hallways. It's clear she doesn't know she's being recorded. Soft, pitiful sniffles can be heard. If her damp face is any indication, she's been crying for a while.

For how upset she is, she's being awfully quiet about it.

The girl rubs her nose on the collar of her dress and scuffs her shoes on the floor.]

[She wanders outside, vaguely annoyed at herself for wearing a dress.]

[Yuu meets her at the door, since he can't go out alone.

...It's a little weird that his first instinct is to call her "coach", but then he remembers her given name and uses that instead.]

[She nods enthusiastically.]

I'm really good. I'll win.

[Up close, she's sure it's Yuu and she likes him. He's nice to her. He always checks on her when she's sad.]

[He smiles and pushes the door open, heading outside with his bat over his shoulder. He holds the door for her and then looks around before choosing a wide grassy area nearby.]

Do you want to bat or throw?

[She holds her hands up to catch the ball. She might pitch like a girl, but she pitches like a really really good girl, okay?]

Okay! [That is fine with Yuu! He tosses the ball to her and then jogs a little ways away and raises his bat. Okay he is totally ready for manry babby sports.]

[She executes a flawless underhand pitch, right over the "plate". He will never hit it because it is just that oh wait did she say over the plate she meant two feet off center.]

...Oops.

[She lost a lot of her motor control in the deaging, apparently.]

It's okay. [Yuu runs to get the ball, then jogs back and throws it to her.] Try again!

[She catches it easily, which makes her feel a little bit better about the whole thing.

Okay, she knows the whole sequence for this. She pictures each move in her head as she does her next pitch. Feet shoulder width apart, arm loose...

And she manages to get the ball over the plate this time!]

[Yuu swings and misses!]

Dang it! [But it's good natured. Off he goes to chase the ball again!]

[She giggles. Wow, she wishes she'd had more friends to do this with the first time she was a kid!]

[Yuu comes back and tosses the ball back to her and takes his stance again. Gonna knock it out of the park.]

[She does the step-by-step pitch again, and this one is even closer to straight on, although that might be to her disadvantage in this particular instance.]

[This time Yuu hits it, but it's not exactly a home run. It would probably be a foul ball if they were playing on a real field, but whatever, there are no base lines, no one can call it foul.]

[Shannon fetches the ball this time, and gestures for them to switch.]

[The surprise of being hit knocks her off balance and down she goes, her pretty dress covered in mud when she falls flat on her butt.]
