[A small, slightly stocky child in a dress sits against a wall in one of the hallways. It's clear she doesn't know she's being recorded. Soft, pitiful sniffles can be heard. If her damp face is any indication, she's been crying for a while.

For how upset she is, she's being awfully quiet about it.

The girl rubs her nose on the collar of her dress and scuffs her shoes on the floor.]

[This narration agrees but Shannon was very absorbed in her boredom for a moment there so there was nothing to be done.

But now she's caught some sort of motion out of the corner of her eye and her heart is pounding as she scoots away from whatever's around that corner.]

I-- is somebody there?

Philip's eyes widen and he hurriedly disappears behind the corner. ]

...No-o!

[ See? Nobody there. Nobody at all!

[ Normally Philip would do fine without stating the obvious, but that just seems like a great observation to make now, especially since it finally turns that tiny suspicious face into a smile and makes him approach Shannon a lot less reluctantly than before. ]
