OOC: Entranceway Self-Defense Lessons

Beiste and others have volunteered to teach lessons on self-defense, weaponry, and other things that might help for survival during events where lives are in danger. Comment with the form below to be added to the list as a teacher, student, or both! Lessons are every Wednesday in a tearoom on the first floor that has been outfitted for the purposes of sparring and training.

Basically what it sounds like. Typical self defense stuff in the vein of this along with other simple judo throws meant to incapacitate and surprise an opponent who might underestimate you otherwise.

Teaching: Swording and shooting, though he's accustomed to what would be seen as old-fashioned firearms. As far as swordplay, he's extremely proficient and has already taught a couple of people.

Regularly taking: None so far, but might change as more options come up.

Sometimes taking: I think he'd be interested in seeing the Judo. It's not like anything he's seen before.

Kid

Teaching: all of these weapons except for the Calamity Cannon, on weekends, when he has time. Focusing on hammers. Also covers weapon maintenance.

Updated! Added some students for the Kid and put the Kid as sometimes taking hand-to-hand lessons with Al and Wash and Allison.

Teaching: Hand-to-hand. In case anyone wants to learn to do more than just defend themselves, he can actually teach them how to fight with hand-to-hand combat. And he's got pretty extensive knowledge of modern and more futuristic guns, so he could potentially also offer shooting lessons and whatnot?

Regularly taking: None, since he's pretty comfortable with his abilities as of now.

Sometimes taking: Caeldonian Weaponry and Swording, he'd probably peek in on occasion

Teaching: Al is skilled in hand-to-hand and perfectly willing to teach with others! He's also somewhat skilled with various weapons, but that's more something he's just picked up than anything he'd want to necessarily teach.

Regularly taking: Probably none at the moment?

Sometimes taking: Heh, he might peek in on the Caledonian lessons just out of sheer curiosity.

Teaching: oh god why would you ever put Greed in charge of teaching anything to anyone?

Regularly taking: He is most certainly not taking classes, that would be too much like joining things run by other people! But...

Sometimes taking: ...he does stop by the Kid's thing occasionally, just because he has some cool toys. And Al's. It would take some coaxing (and appealing to his ego) to get him to do more than watch, but he does show up.

Sometimes taking: Beiste's class! Marking it as sometimes only because I feel like he's not as disciplined or serious as he could be (since he has magic), but he would still be very interested and turn up now and then. Chance of attendance goes up 100% immediately after an event where his magic is taken away, but then gradually gets less frequent with time until the next one happens.

...I would offer to have him teach, but Remus and Sirius are the only ones who can use his kind of magic, and Remus is likely more experienced than him at this point anyway. 8D;;

Teaching: Hand to hand combat and archery. She's more likely to teach the very basics of hand to hand combat and self defense, just for people who have never taken it before and want to learn some basic moves. As for Archery she's willing to teach both longbow and cross-bow.

Regularly taking: none so far but this might also change!

Sometimes taking: Self defense and judo flipping when she has the time! And she stands in for as many of the military hand-to-hand and weaponry training sessions as she can.

Teaching: Building your own explosives the pirate way. Hector's fairly skilled with the notoriously volatile explosives of his time, and has been known to build his own grenades, so he can pass that knowledge on. Anyone here during the hellhound event should...Remember how effective they were. c':

Teaching: Kenpō. Defence, restraint and keeping someone down. Looking at how to disable an attacker and remove a thread. Also in three helpful gifs. Or one video. Just ask Mirror Blake her damage. Preference to one on one sessions too.

Sometimes taking: Swordsmanship. Not that she... needs any more danger to her ahaha

Sometimes taking: Agent Washington's. Blame the zombie event. While Ed did well enough, it did provide motivation to actually work on his aim, so he'll be there for weapons training. You know. When he thinks about it. Relevant events will probably boost attendance for a bit before it tapers off again due to getting distracted with other things.

Teaching: Swordmanship and Self Defense for Ladies - basically exactly what it implies. Teaching women in particular how to use swords and knives, as well as fend off an attacker long enough for help to arrive.

Sometimes taking: Pirate explosives because who doesn't need to know how to blow things up?

Tony won't be teaching any classes - at least for self-defense because he a) doesn't have the temperment, and b) there are classes that run close to his skills, but.

HE WILL BE TAKING SWORDSMANSHIP AND EARLY FIREARMS. Because Pepper's supposed to be doing that with Lia, and because the idea of Iron Man swordfighting amuses me.

Teaching: Clarisse La Rue — Weapons Mastery: since most of the classes already feature a lot of the things she could teach, she'd be willing to offer a class for people who want a challenge, rather than learning a skill. This would be more of a master class for people who already know how to use their weapon of choice in order to hone their skills. However, she can also teach if anyone is interested in learning to use a spear or any of the less common medieval weapons (axes, maces, etc).

Regularly taking: Signing Becky up to take Sam's hunting class! More than just regularly, RELIGIOUSLY.
